Check Assist can offer several Options for processing NSF checks with varying degrees of your involvement.

  1. Do them yourself with Check Chase, our nsf check collection software.  When you process your own checks in-house, any NSF State fees are yours to keep.  These fees will often cover your collection department costs and offset losses from uncollected items.
  2. Check Assist offers outsource programs where we process your returned checks for you.  In this program, we charge a per transaction fee on each item processed, so it isn't a requirement that your clients be charged the normal NSF State fee.  This program is often preferred in industries where charging additional fees might be viewed negatively.  If you do decide to have us process the NSF fees, the collected fee will be returned to you.
  3. Our Web Based check recovery software module combines check consolidation with check re-presentment and is the perfect replacement for high returned check charges.
  4. Check Assist can process your NSF items at no charge to you whatsoever.  We do this by keeping a portion of the State authorized NSF collection fee to cover operational overhead.

You can have your NSF items (or images of the items) delivered directly to Check Assist from your banking institution.  Or, if you prefer to pick and choose the items that you send, you may use one of our PC based software programs or our Web based interface.

Web reporting is provided 24/7 so that you will always know which checks are being processed and which checks have paid.

Electronic nsf check collection is a powerful and much needed tool in the age old battle of check collection.  Regardless of which of our services you decide upon, you can rest assured that you will receive the best service, customer support and/or software available in the market today.
